Gus’ Chalet of Akron was a local culinary icon that was a favorite gathering spot for local politicians, founded and owned by Gus Kanarios.
The menu consisted of everything from relish trays, featuring a kidney bean salad, to his now-famous complimentary Gus Toast: a cheese toast also called Gus Puffs, along with Greek specialities.
The restaurant closed in 2014.
