The Desert Inn began in 1952 as a "place of exotica" in the east end of Columbus, Ohio. It eventually included an Aztec room, with aligator clocks and llama skins, and an outdoor pool where patrons of the underground bar could watch the swimmers through portal windows.
It closed in 1981, becoming The Playboy Club. Now there's a fast food restaurant on the location.
