The Showboat was not as boat, but a brick-and-mortar venue in Lorain, Ohio, which showcased a variety of acts from around the country in the 1950s.
It was damaged by fire twice (in 1956 and 1957) which made the owner decide to move it to a new location and change the name due to bad luck.
The new restaurant was called Colony Bar, located on the east side. Today the building is home to the Offshore Pub and Grub.
