Tamuning, Guam: Siciliano’s Pacific Bakery

While it’s true Siciliano operated his Pacific Bakery in Guam, there is a far better story about him. 

Here it is, abridged from the court records:

Edward Thompson, the President of Products Co., came to Guam in 1950 to establish a 'Dairy Queen' store to sell ice cream. He attempted to hire Siciliano as the Guam manager but Siciliano was not interested. Thompson came to Guam and negotiated with Siciliano. The store opened on June 22, 1952. 

Ten days after the store opened, Siciliano left Guam and came to the United States. He left employees of his Pacific Enterprises, Inc. corporation in charge of the business. Upon arrival he called Thompson and told him that he would return to Guam in a few weeks. Siciliano did not return to Guam for two years.

On April 4, 1953 the Board passed a resolution refusing to ratify the copartnership agreement and declaring the 'de facto partnership' at an end. Siciliano was tendered $15,000, as a return of his original investment.

That’s a lot of baggage for an ice cream store in Guam I think. I’ll say one thing- that Siciliano guy had some big ones to pull that.
